Website Domain Names

I SUGGEST YOU REGISTER YOUR DOMAIN NAME YOURSELF; AND THAT IT BE A DOT COM [.com] DOMAIN. CAUTION:  When registering your domain name the registrar will try to sell you a hosting plan which as my customer you do NOT need.  You do not need to include it with YOUR domain name registry.  I include hosting in all my website agreements.  AS MY CUSTOMER, IT COSTS YOU NO EXTRA. 

I want you to know your website name should be yours to own and control.  A domain name is critical to your having a website and as important to you as a business or other entity name you might own.  When you, yourself, register your domain name it will belong to you as long as you keep renewals paid up.  Basically it will belong to the person who registers it.

You can authorize someone else to register your domain name for you; but BE AWARE.  In such a case they likely would register YOUR DOMAIN NAME in THEIR NAME so they would own and control it.  WOULD THIS BE WHAT YOU WANT?

NOTICE:  Regardless of how you manage obtaining your domain name you will be required to send your website developer the "DNS" setting for your domain.  The DNS is provided by your registrar at time of registration.  This is a technical requirement for getting your future website online.   AGAIN I CAN HELP you with this at the same time as I help you with registering your domain name.
